Monday we visited Fort Breendonk which is a concentration camp from WWII located about 20 minutes south of us in Willobroek. Needless to say, it was very sobering. They provided a great audio tour and we were lucky to be there on a day that there were no crowds.
Later in the day, we took the tunnel, under the Schelde River, to the other side of Antwerp. There are no bridges connecting the sides and the majority of the people either walk or ride their bikes to cross. I was surprised at how many people were in the tunnel when we were there. Colin decided be wanted to ride his bike. I was impressed that he rode the entire way - 1/2 mile each way.
