2 days to go!

Things are starting to get a little hectic around here. We still have our suitcases to pack and have a laundry list of things that need to be taken care of around the house before we go.

A lot has happened over the last week. The movers came and packed up our clothes, toys, strollers, etc. The total shipment weighed in at 591 lbs!!

We spend our last weekend here visiting with our family and friends. Friday we had lunch with my mom, grandmom (aka Oma). Friday night I had a great dinner out with my friends at The Little Tuna and Saturday night, we ate at Casona with our neighbors.

In the next week or 2 I will be changing our blog to http://www.shandtastic.com/.

How to pack a family of 4 for 6 months.

We have been making piles of things we want to bring to Antwerp for about a month now. This is our main pile but we have other piles in our bedrooms and basement. The movers will be coming on Monday to pack everything and ship it. We need to provide an inventoried list of everything we are having them ship by tomorrow. The movers told us that they expect all of our things to arrive at our apartment on Monday, April 6th. Hopefully it will not get held up in customs!!!

April 2nd

After 2 trips to NY, our visas will be arriving Friday. We have booked our flight for April 2nd. Yeah!!

Finally - Ready to apply for a visa!

Would you let these shady looking characters into your country???

We have finally rounded up all of the required paperwork to apply for our visa. Craig will be going up to NYC on Monday with all of our documentation. Although we still do not have a date for when we will be leaving, it will likely be in the next couple of weeks.

Our home in Antwerp

Here it is, our apartment in Antwerp. It is small but right in the heart of the historic center of town. It is only 2 bedroom but there is still plenty of room for an air mattress. The picture of the cathedral is the view from the front door of the building!
